ClipGo Privacy Policy
ClipGo ("the app") is a mobile application used to record, manage, merge, and upload repair order videos. This Privacy Policy explains what information the app handles, how it is used, and what choices users have.
1. Information the app handles
ClipGo may handle the following types of information:
- Camera recordings and audio captured by the device microphone
- Repair order information entered by the user, such as RO number
- Repair order details retrieved from GoAuto, such as customer name, vehicle information, VIN, advisor, and dealer information
- Videos stored locally on the device by the app
- GoAuto authentication/session information needed to use GoAuto-connected features
- Technical information needed to upload videos, such as file size, upload progress, and upload status
2. How the app uses information
ClipGo uses this information to:
- Record repair order videos
- Trim and merge recorded video clips
- Organize videos by repair order
- Display repair order details inside the app
- Upload videos to GoAuto
- Keep track of whether videos were uploaded successfully
- Manage videos stored locally on the device
3. Camera and microphone access
ClipGo requests camera access to record repair order videos and microphone access to record audio with those videos. The app does not use the camera or microphone in the background.
4. Local storage on the device
ClipGo stores recorded and processed videos locally on the device so users can review, manage, trim, merge, upload, and delete them.
Uploaded videos may be automatically removed from local device storage after 24 hours, but the app may keep an internal upload record so the repair order still shows that a video was uploaded.
Users may also manually delete locally stored videos through the app.
5. GoAuto integration
ClipGo includes features that connect to GoAuto in order to authenticate the user, look up repair order information, and upload videos to GoAuto.
When a user signs in through the app’s embedded browser, ClipGo may store authentication or session data locally on the device so the user does not have to sign in every time.
6. Sharing of information
ClipGo does not sell personal information.
Information handled by the app may be shared only as needed to provide app functionality, including with GoAuto when the user signs in, looks up repair order information, or uploads videos.
7. Data retention
- Locally stored videos remain on the device until deleted by the user, deleted by app actions, or automatically removed after upload-retention cleanup
- Upload-history records may remain in the app so users can see whether an RO has already had a video uploaded
- GoAuto session data remains until the user logs out, the session expires, or the app clears it
8. User choices and controls
- Choose whether to record videos
- Review, trim, merge, and delete videos
- Log out of GoAuto from within the app
- Remove videos from the device using app controls
9. Security
ClipGo stores app data locally on the device and transmits data to GoAuto when the user uses GoAuto-connected features. While reasonable steps are taken to support normal app operation, no method of storage or transmission is guaranteed to be completely secure.
10. Children
ClipGo is not intended for children.
11. Changes to this Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. If changes are made, the updated version should be published with a new effective date.
